Let’s say you are a Windows 11 user and you are in need of some text files that are located on a device that uses a different operating system, like macOS, for example.
Trying to send those files on your Microsoft-powered PC via Bluetooth sounds like a great idea, until you realize that what you are trying to do won’t actually work the way you imagined.
And by that, we mean that it won’t work at all. Recently, users that tried to perform the above-mentioned process, found that the task is impossible for the time being.
Bluetooth transfer issue stops Windows 11-Monterey exchange
Today, one displeased macOS Monterey 12.1 user took to anApple community forumto share his latest situation with the rest of the mac-heads.
Basically, he tried sending some text files from his iMac to his Windows 11 PC, but couldn’t go through with the process, for no apparent reason.
I am unable to send text files from iMac via BlueTooth to a Windows 11 computer.The iMac is able to receive text files via Bluetooth from the Windows 11 computer.The iMac is a Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020 running Monterey 12.1 with Bluetooth firmware v75 c4194.Apple Support has investigated this (Case Number: 101590561315) without resolution as of this posting (Wednesday 26 January 2022).
This issue has even been put in a ticket, apparently, and the developer team over at Apple Support is supposedly currently investigating it.
Even though there are a few ways that you can transfer files from one operating system to another, the Bluetooth path is simple and fast, provided you are planning on sending small files, such as text.
However, as of right now, this feature isn’t working, and all you can do is wait for Apple to provide a fix patch, along with an explanation.
The big problem here is the fact that iMac Monterey Bluetooth software does not provide the ability to send files to a Windows 11-powered machine.
However, the iMac will successfully receive text files from the Windows 11 PC via Bluetooth. We’re hoping the companies will soon fix this annoying issue.
