Following atrail of leaks, Microsoft released what it’s supposed to be the first build ofWindows10 21H1, codename Iron, with just a few new features but rich on fixes.

And we are saying thatInsider Preview Build20150 is supposed to be the first build ofWindows10 21H1 because Microsoft doesn’t write anywhere on theirannouncementabout this build being tied up toWindows10 21H1.

It’s been a crowded period with Microsoft also releasing theWindows 10 20H2for theBeta Channel, the former Slow ring, and issuingoptional updatesto fix printing issues caused by otherJune patch updates.

The Insider Preview Build20150 was released only for theDev Channel (the former Fast ring).

First, we remind you that Microsoft decided to name the builds in this format: last two digits of the year followed by the first or second half of the year.

SoWindows10 21H1 is set to be released for the general public in the first half of 2021.

If you’re a programmer, you’re probably going to be excited aboutthree new WSL features:

Maps app will use data from TomTom

Microsoft alsoannouncedon the Windows Blogs that the Bing Maps Team started to update the Maps app forWindows Insidersin the Dev Channel (Fast ring) to use the new map data from TomTom.

If you’re not aware, in February of 2019, Microsoftand TomTom announcedthat that they will incorporate all of TomTom’s map and traffic data across Microsoft Azure and Bing, and to power theAzure Maps.

Other improvements coming withWindows 1021H1 include a new search box on the default app settings pages and a new Korean IME.

A long list of minor fixes

Microsoft alsopublisheda long list of minor fixes coming with the newWindows10 21H1.

That includes issues likeVisual Studio windows not accepting clicks, broken icons in several parts of theWindows10 UI, or Search not accepting typed input.
