Key notes
Cyberpunk 2077has managed to solidify a legacy of not only being one of the most anticipated games in recent years, but also being one of the biggest let-downs in recent years as well, as proven by therocky startthat its been through since the December 10 launch.
The games was still a financial success due to the initial expectations, and it managed to becomeprofitable since day 1, but that was soon to change after players got a taste of the final product.
Cyberpunk 2077 had already been delayed twice so that developers can polish out the bugs, which only begs the question as to what exactly would the state of the game have been if it were launched when it was first promised.
The Witcher 3’s patch history may give clues as to what to expect
For those of you that are familiar with CR Projekt Red’s past title, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you may remember that it didn’t start out too well either, being just as a bug riddled mess as Cyberpunk 2077, only with a fantasy theme.
Users haven’t forgotten that either, andare consideringthat CD Projekt Red use the same scheme they did in the past in order to fix Cyberpunk 2077.
05/18/2015– Witcher 3 released with day 1 patch
05/21/2015 – 1.03– performance/bugs
05/25/2015 – 1.04– performance/bugs
06/05/2015 – 1.05– performance/bugs, but now also many gameplay rebalances, QoL, and easy to develop content
07/18/2015 -1.07– performance/bugs, QoL , content (player stash)
08/07/2015 – 1.08– performance/bugs
The list goes on and on, but the main idea is that patches where being rolled out on a monthly basis for well over a year, and they all focused on fixing bugs, with the occasional DLC or new features thrown in here and there.
Players want to know CD Projekt Red’s plans with the game
Comparing Cyberpunk 2077 to Witcher 3 came in light of yet another player request, as many users areasking for CD Projekt Red to release a roadmapof the upcoming patches and fixes.
This would be a great incentive for players, especially those that haven’t yet considered the possibility of refunding the game:
A roadmap needs to be given to the public, Not talking about another 3 release dates or whatever. I want to know what CDPR priorities are for the future of this game.
All in all, this is merely what the public wants, but CD Projekt Red has shown in the past that customer satisfaction is a pillar of their work etiquette, so hopefully they will take this into consideration.
However, if you do want your money back with the intent of purchasing the game later when it is finally done (again), know that you may encounter some difficulties getting your money back, especially ifyou’re playing on certain platforms.
