This is the third timeMicrosoftincreases temporary usage limits for Teams, the previous ones being announced back in April and June 2020.

In an attempt to respond to the current teleworking demands, and also to resist competition against Zoom,Microsofthas been continuously improving theircollaboration app.

Ever since the epidemic breakout, Teams has seen a steady increase in its daily user base, with anotable boomin the first week of the stay-at-home rules. According to recent figures, Teams is being used by over 100 million people on a daily basis, while Zoom – by over 300 million. So it’s only natural thatMicrosoftis trying to stay attractive and ease communication and collaboration across all its services.

As a result, live events hosted in Teams, Yammer or Stream will continue within the following limits:

It must be mentioned that interactive meetings are available for up to 1,000 participants, while the rest of the participants (up to 20,000) will enjoy just a view-only experience.

Also, event hosts must have the Advanced Communications option added to theirMicrosoft365 orOffice 365plan.

With such great news for large companies, one surely has to be on the lookout for app improvements. The latest one allows users to transfer callsfrom PC to mobile.
