Microsoft andNTT DATAare joining hands to help enterprises deploy and utilize cloud-based resources, specifically onAzure. The two companies will jointly improveNTT DATA’s WinActor, a robotic process automation (RPA) application.

The Redmond-based company is already in the RPA field, and it even has its own such tool,Power Automate. Besides, Microsoft recently announced it had acquired Softomotive, the firm that developed WinAutomation.

The move by Microsoft to extend its partnership withNTT DATAdoesn’t come as a surprise.

For starters, the tech giant is in the habit of acquiring or at least forming alliances with like-minded tech firms to help enterprises quickly and smoothly move their data and applications to the cloud.

It took over Movere, a cloud-migration service, in September 2019, for example.

The company is now liaising withNTT DATAon multiple tech fronts, and WinActor development is a key objective of the alliance.

In astatementpublished today, Microsoft said it’s collaborating withNTT DATAto help with the digital transformation of businesses. Going forward, the corporations will work hand in hand to deploy MicrosoftAzure-powered solutions and services.

The companies will enhanceNTT DATA’s knowledge management solution everis knowler, and robotics process automation tool WinActor focusing on streamlining business operations and increasing productivity and efficiency.

NTT DATAis itself a global leader in IT. So it has the breadth and depth necessary to help with the deployment of Microsoft’s productivity solutions, includingMicrosoft 365.The companies can also leverage their synergistic alliance to pushTeamsto more people working from home.

Lately, Microsoft has been improving Teams’ capacity for workforce collaboration. For example, the Office 365 platform will soon allowMeetingswith up to 300 participants.
