The Creators Update is breaking many things, with the Logitech Brio Webcam being one of them. Users report that everything goes well after installation until the time to use Windows Hello in combination with the Logitech Brio webcam comes along.Logitechhas already confirmed that absent video content and/or an undetected webcam are possibilities due to this issue and explained that the bug comes from the way that the Creators Update loads webcam drivers, with the device listed as Unknown in the Device Manager screen. Luckily, there’s a solution to this mess — follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
How to fix Logitech Brio Webcam issues
You need to launchDevice Manager, go to theBRIO/Unknownsection with a yellow exclamation icon, and navigate toUpdate Software. Then, you have to choose the option sayingLet me pick from a list, go toShow compatible hardware >USB Video Deviceand then clickNextin order to complete the install.
This means the webcam will use generic Windows 10 drivers instead of the dedicated software developed by Logitech. This is not exactly the most convenient solution, but it seems to be the only way to continue using the webcam until new drivers are released.
On the other hand, it seems that the Creators Update can be installed smoothly on most devices and such bugs only occur because certain vendors haven’t yet updated their drivers for the release of Microsoft’s newest OS.
