We’ve just had our first look atJohn Carpenter’s Toxic Commandowhich features bloody zombies, brutal shooting, and 80’s rock hits for the tone that’s perfect for the horror legend. The game is scheduled for a 2024 release.
The mastermind behind such classics as Halloween and The Thing has lent his influence to what could very well be one of thebest FPS gamesof all time. It strikes a similar note to zombie shooters such asLeft 4 DeadandKilling Floorwith its fast movement speed, realistic weapons with colorful background contrast, and vehicular slaughter.
The full trailer down below shows off more of what you can expect from theVampiresandThey Livedirector. Fans of 80’s action and horror flicks are likely to get a kick out of this one, and we can’t wait to see what it’s all about in the next few months leading up to the full release.
Given the fact that John Carpenter is behind some of the most iconic monster designs of the past five decades, we’re likely to see some truly terrifying zombies inToxic Commando. If it’s anything like Turtle Rock and Valve’s Left 4 Dead series, with undead hoards of all different shapes and sizes, then the wheels can be greased to go as grotesquely as inhumanly possible.
The decision to debut alongside Bon Jovi’sShot Through the Heartencapsulates everything that makes sleazy schlock fests of the decade hit so good. As long as we can mow down undead hordes with rock and roll scoring the slaughter then we’ll have little to complain about next year whenJohn Carpenter’s Toxic Commandotears its way onto console and PC.
WhileE3 2023isn’t going ahead this year, that hasn’t slowed down the momentum of the summer games showcase. There’s a lot to look forward to and we’ll be bringing you all you need to see so you don’t miss a thing.
