Microsoft launched Windows 10 in 2015 and since then, the tech giant has constantly worked on improving the OS by regularly releasing system updates and new versions. Now, theWindows 10 Creators Updateis the newest version of Windows. With it, Microsoft hopes to revolutionize the personal computer industry once again bymaking 3D modeling mainstream.

If you’re planning toinstall the Creators Updateon your computer, make sure that you system can properly run it. Two major computer manufacturers, Dell and HP, have already published a list with all thedevices compatible with the Creators Update.

Of course, this is not the only element that you should take into account; availablehard drive spaceis also an important element to check. As a quick reminder, earlier versions of Windows 10 did not define this option clearly. As a result, many32GB laptop owners struggled to free up enough spaceto install the Anniversary Update.

Installing the Creators Update on low storage drives

With the Creators Update, Windows 10 detects limited-capacity devices and theUpdate Assistantwill let users know that there is not enough space to upgrade. The Creators Update requires a minimum10GB of free space.

If this requirement is not met, setup will recommend a couple of options.

In other words, if you don’t have enough space to install the Creators Update, the Update Assistant will inform you about it and offer you two solutions to either free up or add storage space.
