The future ofSkypeis determined. Microsoft decided, even after quite an opposing feedback, thatthe Skype 7.0 is the part of history.

As of November, allSkypeuserswill be forced to either ditchSkypeand choose an alternative app or settle for theSkype8.0. This one is quite similar to the mobile version, with all traits of aninstant messenger. Among the other features,Skype8 includes message reactions.

These allow you to use an emoji and react to the message. A silly addition, especially for Bussinesuserswho useSkypefor formal contacts.

How can I disable ‘React to this message’ Skype alerts

There’s no option to disable these, so you’ll need to get used to it. Of course, you can avoid them, just don’t click on that emoji icon under the sender’s name and you’ll be golden. There might be an option in the future, though, as a lot ofusersare not satisfied with this and some other additions to the latest release ofSkype.

But, for the time being, you can try them out and judge on your own. If it happens, by chance, that you’ve accidentally placed a reaction, you can remove it in the same manner. Just click on the reaction icon next to the sender’s name and click again on the emoji you’ve used. Simple as that.

We hope this was an informative read and make sure to tell us your opinion on the changes Microsoft made toSkype. You can do so in the comments section below.
