The File History feature available in the newWindows 8.1,Windows 10is a very useful program to have because it will rapidly and easily provide you with a backup copy of the library folders, Desktop,Internet Explorerand Contacts list. Unfortunately, this feature has some bugs in it. One of them being that when you restore a backup archive of the File history, it will not to place the case-sensitive letters in the name of thefolders you backed up.After the backup copy is restored, the folders will change for example from “Library” to “library” or from “Games” to “games”. Normally, this little bug won’t affect your usage ofWindows 8.1, 10 but if you are using an application, for example, and you define certain case-sensitive folders, this might affect the work you are trying to accomplish.

SOLVED: Case-sensitive errors while using File History

Unfortunately, there is no option you can check while doing the File History backups which can assure you that the case-sensitive folders will be restored with capital letters.

The only option we have until Microsoft fixes this bug is to manually restore the proper name to the desired folders by simply renaming them .

This is the simplest way we can fix this until Microsoft updates this File History feature to prevent a future folder name change during the process.
