Explorer.exe crash loop fixed in latest Windows 10 build

Many Insiders who installed the latestWindows 10 buildsexperienced Explorer.exe crashes on various occasions. The good news is that build 15014 finally fixes the annoying Explorer.exe crash loops.

More spefically, this build fixes two issues that caused Explorer.exe to crash loop and improves the system tray logic so as reduce its impact on Explorer.exe. Microsoft explains thatdesktop shortcutsthat include the “%” character would cause Explorer.exe crash loops when users clicked them. Also, Explorer.exe would crash when users projected to a secondary monitor.

Here’s what has been fixed in build 15014:

We fixed an issue where Desktop shortcuts containing the “%” character (usually URI shortcuts with escaped characters) would result in an Explorer.exe crash loop.We fixed an issue where projecting to a secondary monitor could result in an Explorer.exe crash loop. […]We’ve updated the system tray logic to be more robust when faced with bad data that could potentially result in Explorer.exe reliability issues.

Explorer.exe crash loops arecommonissues for users whoupgrade to Windows 10as well. Apparently, there are various apps that somehow interfere with Explorer.exe and cause it to behave in an unusual manner.

I upgraded from Win 7 to 10 last Friday (the last free upgrade day), and after some struggles, I’m in the brave new world. However, every minute or so, everything locks on the desktop, then explorer.exe restarts. I’ve tried a variety of things found in this forum and elsewhere, to no avail. All drivers are up to date. Problem happens even when booted in safe mode.

Most likely, Explorer.exe crash loops are caused by damaged or corrupt files, as users report that installing and running a registry cleaner usually fixes this issue.

Tried everything and finally i just tried to clean with simple program ccleaner, cleaned absolutely all stuff. Everything works fine now.
